When you have a water leak in your home, it can damage many of the main parts and structures of the house. Floor damage is one of the most common issues we see when it comes to water leaking into the home. Floor water damage is not always apparent but it can be dangerous.

Water can get into your floor no matter what kind of flooring you have including carpet and hardwood. Sometimes, your floor can also begin to get a musty or damp odor when there has been water building up underneath it.

If this is the case, we can also perform odor removal services from the carpet. We will first dry the carpet and then use special materials and disinfectants to make sure the musty odor comes out.

Wood floor is often a concern when water starts building up underneath them as the wood can begin to warp and change colors when there is water damage. Don’t worry though, we do full wood floor damage restoration. If the floor is not able to be restored, we can do a full replacement to get our floors looking new again.

First Contact Us and Let Us Come to You

Before you make any attempts to clean your home yourself, give us a call. We know that the first thing people do when they see water damage is often to jump into action. Unfortunately, DIY approaches rarely work when it comes to mitigating and cleaning water damage.

When you have professionals come to the home they can often get a clearer picture of how much damage there is and exactly what work needs to be done. While we are on the phone with you, we will ask a few questions to try and get a better idea of the damage.

This way, we know which experts to send and which equipment we may need to bring along with us.

Inspecting the Damage

We always strive to get to your home within an hour depending on how bad the damage is. When we get to your property, we might ask you to step out of the home if we feel like it’s dangerous for you to be inside.

We will then go from room to room to see how extensive the damage is. Once we have assessed the damage, we can give you a price estimate and let you know how long the job will take to complete.

It might be possible for you to stay inside the home as we clean and restore. In other more serious cases, you might need to find another place to stay if there is mold growth or if the moisture levels are too high in the home.

Removing the Water

Before the restoration process can begin, we need to dry the home and clean up the mess that is left behind. We have suction tools and pumps that allow us to pump the water out of the floor. Once we have most of it pumped out, we can suction the remaining little that is left.

We also have special wet vacuum cleaners that can remove the water from the floors. This is one of the reasons why it’s so crucial that you call professionals when you need water removed from the floors.

The only way to get all the water out of the floor and decrease the risk of mold growth is if there is commercial grade equipment being used like suctions and pumps.

Cleanup and Reducing Moisture

Once we have all the water removed, we will spend the rest of our time cleaning debris and dirt out of the home that might have come up with the water. If we had to rip up any of the flooring, we will also clean everything that we used when removing the floor.

Once the ground is dry under the removed flooring, we can begin the restoration process which involves putting the new carpet or new hardwood in.

After the new floor is finished, we will use dehumidifiers to remove excess moisture from the home. Depending on the damage and humidity, you might need to use the dehumidifiers for several days or weeks to remove all the moisture from the air.
