We will ask you a few questions over the phone so we can see the extent of the damage to your home and see how many things you have that might need to be packed up and moved off-site.
Step Two: Inventory
Before we begin packing your things, we first have to do an inventory of the things you have that need to be packed up and moved from the home. We will make copies on paper and on the computer of the things you own that are being packed.
This will allow us and you to keep track of the things that are being moved from the home so nothing is forgotten or left behind.
Once we have an inventory of everything, we can begin the packing and shipping process.
Step Three: Packing and Shipping
Step three starts with packing. Once we have all your items in inventory, we will begin packing. This consists of us taking all your belongings and putting them safely and securely into boxes.
We will ensure we use foam, cushions, and other protective items that might be needed so that your items do not break during transit.
We will then take all the items to our warehouse which is air-conditioned and climate controlled. If you live far from one of our main warehouses, we will ship all the items. Otherwise, we can load them into a truck and drive them to the warehouse.
Step Four: Make Lists and Copies of All Items In the Warehouse
Hopefully, your items will not be in storage for too long because we work as quickly and fast as we can to ensure your home is restored and repaired as quickly as possible. It’s important that all your items stay safe during the restoration process which is why we put them in a warehouse that is far from mold, water, and smoke/fire damage.
Once all the items reach our warehouse, our associates will take an inventory of all the items and provide you with copies of everything that is there and where in the warehouse it is located.
Step Five: Clean and Deodorize
Some of the items will need to be cleaned and deodorized before they are stored in the warehouse. This includes items like couches or mattresses that might have come into contact with mold or smoke.
Our team will clean and take all the odors out of your belongings before we put them into the storage unit.
If we deem that some of the items cannot be properly cleaned, we will let you know. Then, you can decide if you want us to dispose of it so you can find a proper replacement.
Step Six: Restoration and Repairs
This is one of the longest steps in the process depending on the damage that is done to your home and how long it will take us to do repairs and restore the home to its former glory.
After an inspection, we can give you a timeline of how long the work may take so you have an idea of what to expect.
Restoration might take longer if your home has extensive water damage or if we find mold growing in parts of the home.
Step Seven: Send Your Items Back to You
At the end of the restoration process, we will start scheduling all the items to be sent back to you. We can then unpack all the items for you once they reach back to your home so that when you move back in, all your items are already there and you can begin life in your house just like it was before.
